Static brushes, tapes and accessories
Ropes and brushes are passive: they bleed the charge to earth through their own conductivity, so there is no power supply, no ozone and nothing to fail. They are the right answer where a bar will not fit, where the material can touch the brush, or as a backup to an active bar. Brush fibre is superconducting carbon fibre — around 30 to 100 times more conductive than ordinary carbon fibre — and soft enough not to scratch film.

No space for a bar
A rope can be strung where a bar body will not fit, which is often the reason it is chosen over an active bar.
Direct material contact acceptable
Brush fibre is superconducting carbon fibre, soft enough not to scratch film, so it can touch the web.
Backup to an active bar
Commonly fitted alongside a powered bar as a second line, particularly on optical film and soft bag lines.
