Guiding Frame

Integrated Web Guiding Frame

The EURDOW C series integrated frame arrives as one finished unit — frame, guide rollers, edge sensor, electric actuator and controller assembled, aligned and function-tested together. There is nothing to fabricate, nothing to align on site and no bracket engineering for your team to do.

Why Integrated

One unit, one part number, one installation.

A web guide built from separate components needs a frame designed, rollers sourced, an actuator mounted, a sensor bracket made and the whole assembly aligned before it will hold a straight web. On a new machine that is engineering time; on a retrofit it is usually the reason the project stalls.

The integrated frame removes all of it. You give the web width, the material and where in the machine it goes; the unit ships ready to bolt in and run.

  • Frame, rollers, sensor, actuator and controller assembled and tested as one unit
  • 0.1 mm guiding accuracy
  • Web widths from 160 mm to 750 mm as standard
  • Ultrasonic or infrared edge sensor, selected by material
  • Optional manual or pneumatic splicing table
  • Typically 7 working days for normal quantities

Where It Comes From

The default web guide on Chinese-built label presses.

EURDOW integrated frames are not the cheapest domestic option, and we would rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise. What they are is the unit that the Chinese narrow-web label printing industry has settled on — by our estimate more than 70 % of that market — to the point that machine builders specify it without evaluating alternatives.

Chinese printing machinery manufacturers fit these frames as original equipment across PS-plate offset, flexo, digital, intermittent rotary, die-cutting and post-press machines — thirteen of the best-known builders in the sector are among them. Those machines are exported, which is why the EURDOW nameplate turns up on production lines well outside China.

For a machine builder evaluating a guiding supplier, that is the useful part: this is not a prototype being sold into your machine. It is a unit that has already been through the engineering reviews of the sector's leading builders and is running in the field.

Every one of these is a different machine on a different builder's stand. We did not arrange any of it — we walked the hall and photographed what was already fitted. It is the clearest picture we can give you of how settled this choice is in the sector.

How to read the model code

Every standard unit is described completely by its model code. Worth knowing before you request a quotation — it tells us the whole specification in one string.

Example: C400-S-300-60-01-Q
CStandard model. FTK instead means a non-standard build.
400Web width in mm
SUltrasonic sensor. R means infrared sensor.
300Roller outer spacing in mm
60Roller diameter in mm (60 or 75)
01Web running direction
-QPneumatic splicing table included. -S means manual splicing table. No suffix means no splicing table.

Selecting the right structure

Integrated frame — up to 450 mm

Below roughly 450 mm web width the integrated frame is normally the right answer: one unit, no machine frame modification, fastest installation. Typically fitted in the in-process section.

Split frame — above 450 mm

Above about 450 mm we recommend a split or steering frame instead. Wide-web versions are built in extruded profile or square-tube construction depending on the load and the machine layout.

See structure options

Single roller frame

Used at specific positions on specific machines — for example at the oven exit of a coating line, where a two-roller structure will not fit or is not wanted.

CF series — unwind / rewind guiding

Not a frame. The CF series is the control package only — controller, sensor, actuator and cables — for guiding an existing unwind or rewind stand. CF50 to CF260, 8–14.5 kg.

Ultrasonic or infrared sensor

Ultrasonic (S) is the general-purpose choice and handles transparent, glossy and low-contrast material. Infrared (R) suits opaque webs with a clean, stable edge. Perforated material needs to be discussed before selection.

Compare sensors

Splicing table

Optional. The manual table (-S) is the cheaper choice; the pneumatic table (-Q) is faster and easier for operators changing rolls frequently. Neither changes the guiding specification.

Before You Order

Three things we confirm first.

We would rather ask these before quoting than ship a unit that will not fit. Once they are settled, the frame arrives ready to install and run — no commissioning visit, no field alignment.

  • Is there already a web guide on the machine? Replacing an existing unit and adding one to a machine that never had one are different jobs.
  • How much installation space is available? Mounting depth and the space between existing rollers decide which roller spacing works.
  • What material, width and machine section? This sets the sensor type and the model code.
