Good Fit
Opaque or contrast-friendly materials with stable edge conditions.
Sensor
EDR-02 is an infrared edge sensor for optical web edge detection in closed-loop web guiding systems. It is suitable for opaque or contrast-friendly web materials where light-based edge sensing can provide stable feedback.

Selection Notes
EDR-02 is a practical choice where the web edge can be detected optically. If the web is transparent or very low contrast, EDS-02 ultrasonic sensing may be the safer recommendation.
Opaque or contrast-friendly materials with stable edge conditions.
Transparent, highly reflective or unstable edge materials should be reviewed before selection.
Use with a compatible web guiding controller, actuator and correction frame selected for the machine section.

Read ArticleEDR02 is suitable when the material is opaque or has a clear edge that infrared sensing can detect reliably in the planned installation position.
Use ultrasonic sensing for transparent or low-contrast webs, and review CCD sensing when the guide must follow printed lines, marks or color edges.
Opening size, sensor alignment, material edge stability, ambient light, dust, web flutter and mounting distance can all affect infrared edge detection.
