Through-Shaft Tension Sensor

LF100A Through-Shaft Tension Sensor

LF100A is a live-shaft flange tension sensor with built-in self-aligning ball bearings. It helps compensate for shaft installation errors and provides stable web tension feedback for converting and web handling equipment.

Replacement & Spare Part

Replacing an LF100A on your machine?

Replacing a load cell from another manufacturer? If the rated load, shaft diameter and mounting dimensions match, one of these can replace it. Send the old sensor’s label and mounting dimensions and we will check the fit.

Availability

Availability is confirmed with the quotation.

What to match

Confirm the rated load of each sensor: the listed rating is for one sensor, and a pair has twice that rated load. Check the 1203 bearing (40 × 17). The S suffix identifies the cable outlet direction: with the resultant force at 6 o’clock, the cable outlet is at 12 o’clock.

What to send us

Send a photo of the sensor label, a photo showing how it is mounted, and the model of the connected controller or signal amplifier. Include the old sensor’s mounting dimensions so we can check the fit.

Measurement checks for LF100A installations

Use these checks to review the sensor installation and measurement setup.

Reading is about half of what you expect

On a machine using a pair of sensors, check that both are connected and their signals are summed. Each sensor carries only its share of the roller load.

Zero shifts after a roller or bearing replacement

With the roller fitted and no web, re-zero the system, then calibrate with a known weight. Replacing the roller changes the dead load seen by the sensors.

Reading jumps or reaches full scale

Check the cable and connector first. Then check for overload from a web break or hard stop, comparing the load the roller saw with the 500% maximum overload listed above.

Rated load is per sensor — a pair reads double

Choose LF100A when a live-shaft flange tension sensor is required and the roller installation needs self-aligning bearing support.

Good FitLive-shaft roller structures, flange-mounted installations and applications where shaft alignment compensation is useful.
Check FirstConfirm shaft diameter, bearing arrangement, rated load, mounting space, output signal and side-frame structure before selection.
